On September 7th we gathered together to be inspired and equipped for the great work to which God has called us in sharing the treasure of Jesus with children. Elder Mark Ortman offered a few words of greeting and a prayer to get our time together started. Rachael Callan then led us in worship to help us prepare our hearts for what God wanted to teach us.
Pastor Ron then shared with us the Key to Successful Ministry. Exploring the words of Jesus in John 15 we learned the importance of “abiding in the vine”. Having established the importance of Jesus to successful ministry and life, Pastor Jim then shared with us how we keep Jesus central to our lessons. Teachers got some important principles and practice in this session.
Next we divided into Preschool and Elementary groups. Alene Bell shared best practices with the preschool team and Ruth Elwardt shared the same with the elementary teachers.
In our final session three options were offered: Using Music in the Classroom, Classroom Management, and Teaching Memory Verses Creatively. See below for videos and resources for each of these offerings.
